What We Do

LocalHealthPlanFinder.com helps Americans find, compare, and understand their Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance options. We provide detailed plan data for all 3,143 U.S. counties — including premiums, deductibles, metal levels, and insurer availability — completely free and with no sign-up required.

Our tools are designed to answer the questions that matter most: How much will I actually pay? Do I qualify for a subsidy? What's the difference between Bronze and Silver? Is COBRA worth keeping? We believe everyone deserves clear, honest answers about their health coverage — without a sales pitch.

Our Data Sources

All plan and rate data comes from official public sources:

  • CMS Public Use Files (PUF) — Plan attributes, rates, and service areas published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • State-Based Exchange PUFs — Data from state marketplaces including Covered California, NY State of Health, and others
  • U.S. Census Bureau — County population, median income, poverty rates, and uninsured statistics
  • HealthCare.gov — Federal marketplace reference data

We update our data as CMS releases new Public Use Files. Federal marketplace states currently reflect 2026 plan year data. State-based exchange states reflect 2025 data until CMS publishes the 2026 SBE PUF (expected mid-2026). Each county page displays which plan year the data represents.
